Landed: We Are FSTVL 2023

This past weekend, we landed across sea in Essex, to hit up the monumental 10th anniversary of We Are FSTVL 2023. Placed on the landscapes of Damyns Hall Aerodrome, not far from Central London, the three-day event, sponsored by PrettyLittleThing, hosted an undeniable line up with collaborative hosting from event favourites such as Defected, Teletech, XXL, Circoloco, Glitterbox, and Trick to name a few.

With an attendance of 80,000 festival goers, day one kicked off with no messing about, as punters entered the grounds to a mapped layout of tents, vendors, and amusements for the weekend. Teletech got straight to the point with their regular spinners 999999999, Charlie Sparks, Sara Landry, blk., and closed off the night with finessed groover Nico Moreno. Defected had their tent on wheels as Paige Tomlinson, Dunmore Brothers, Hannah Wants, and Low Steppa took to the stage. Not forgetting one of our favourites Glitterbox, laid back energy with Dimitri From Paris, Sophie Lloyd, and The Shapeshifters, all holding the fort.

As the sun rose calmly in the early hours of the morning, the campsite came alive as day two approached. Breakfast was being served in floury baps and the mood was uplifted. On the build up to Saturday’s WeAre Stage headliner, The Prodigy; Example, Shy FX, and Andy C warmed up the crowds. Over on the Solid Grooves stage, Skepta mixed up a storm set as expected, followed by Dennis Cruz and a special B2B from PAWSA and Seth Troxier. Circoloco keep the momentum going over on the west side as Jamie Jones, Mochakk, Skream, and Dixon drew in the crowds. All making for a special night.

Familiar faces and VIP ticket holders were treated to an exclusive PrettyLittleThing stage and lounge area which was fit for any guest. Featuring giant PLT sun chairs, a Pixi glam station, a bean bag space, a private bar, and performances from Yung Filly, Wes Nelson, and A1 x J1.

Sunday seen the surviving troopers take on a memorable finish as XXL took on I Hate Models, Amelie Lens, Kobosil, and Brutalismus 3000 serve up an energy forcefield from start to finish. As Patrick Topping headed up the Trick stage after Hannah Laing, and a B2B with Eats Everything. / Dom Dolla. House favourites finished off the weekend main stage as Joel Corry, John Summit, kept it moving for headliner Sonny Fodera.

The whole weekend, there was nothing but good vibes, good music and good people!

Guest Matthew Graham says “We Are FSTVL was honestly just incredible. From the acts, to the set up, the staff and the atmosphere, it was not a festival, it was a community. Yes it rained at times and was cold AF at night, but we were surrounded by the warmest souls & made some incredible new friends that kept the vibes 100 from the get go. We will be back!”
