DJ Heartstring – "A Thousand Lies" video is trance with a bruise
DJ Heartstring finally put visuals to the collab everyone’s been rinsing since May. "A Thousand Lies," with DMA'S and spoken-word artist Saidah, dropped May 15 via Steel City Dance Discs, and the new video leans all the way into the track's late-night confession vibe.
It's a peak-time slammer on paper — 143bpm, trance main floor, seven-minute extended build — but the video slows it down. Saidah delivers her part straight to camera in a dim Berlin warehouse, while Tommy O'Dell from DMA'S sings the hook from the back of a moving car, neon smearing the windows. No big narrative, just two voices trading lines about promises that didn't hold.
Heartstring said it's been "a long time in the making," starting over a year ago with completely different vocals before DMA'S came on board. That patience shows — the final version keeps the trance euphoria but lets Saidah's spoken word add the ache.
It follows their BAUGRUPPE90 link-up and last year's "You Are The Sun, I Am The Sky" EP, and it feels like the clearest statement yet from the Berlin duo's revivalist run. Watch it loud, preferably after midnight.
