Noki: SS23
Noki was, is, and always has been the original anarchist to fashion waste and sustainability issues. Originating from the 90’s Shoreditch DIY rave scene, his upcycled textile “franken-fashion” college style gave rise to the Dr. Noki moniker, revolutionary then, revolutionary now. As we sleepwalk ever further towards to edge of environmental, economic, and social collapse, Noki’s fearless and uncompromising visual message and anti-establishment narrative has never been more poignant or more powerful.
Conceived as a critique on capitalism and challenge to consumerism, and was heavily inspired by Katie Leasn’s Adbusters, founded in 1989 as “a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of theinformation age” Provocative, playful, pioneering – Dr Noki’s anti-fashion aesthetic is a visual rhetoric for today’s age, the mood of the times, and the voices of tomorrow’s generation.
Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro led with reversible double-faced coats, clean-cut leather, textured denim and a refined moto suit.
Eñaut Barruetabeña builds around twenty looks as an emotional map from doubt to confidence, using protective, structured silhouettes with controlled volumes.
Around 2022, Alo realized its best customers' boyfriends were stealing their Airbrush leggings for the gym.
Built for layering chains over tees. As always, handcrafted sterling silver, made in Barcelona.
